The founder
It all began at the kitchen table – in the middle of the pandemic. Out of the wish to puzzle together instead of staring at screens, the FLITCH sliding puzzle was born. And with it the idea behind everything that followed: making things that keep you curious.
Daria Helck writes because she sees gaps – and fills them. When her son needed something that did not exist, she read up and made a workbook for him and for kids like him. When she noticed how little children and teenagers know about economics, she started a bilingual series that explains it – with two kids who are not called Daria and Christian by accident.
Two things drive her: good education for children and personal growth – being allowed to grow, lifelong. And sometimes she simply makes what brings joy – a bilingual bar journal, for example.
This is how very different books and products come to life. One thing unites them: they take their readers seriously, at eye level.
