What is FLITCH?
FLITCH is a German creative and publishing brand for books, games, puzzles, journals and digital products. Our goal is to inspire people of all ages to stay curious, try new things and discover the world with open eyes.
What does FLITCH stand for?
FLITCH stands for curiosity, creativity, knowledge, imagination, personal growth and the joy of discovery. We believe that learning, play, stories, creativity and modern technologies together inspire people and open up new perspectives.
What products does FLITCH create?
FLITCH creates children's books, learning books, workbooks, novels, journals, brainteasers such as the FLITCH sliding puzzle, puzzle products and creative downloads – all about knowledge, creativity, entertainment and personal growth.
Are FLITCH products only for children?
No. Many products are made for children and families – others, such as the novel Prägung, the bar journal The Drink Trail or the poster series, for adults. Our goal is products for curious people of all ages.
What topics does FLITCH cover?
Our topics include economics and financial literacy for kids, feelings and confidence, nature and exploring, puzzles and brainteasers, stories and adventure, creativity and journaling, and modern technologies such as artificial intelligence.
What are the Business Guinea Pigs?
The Business Guinea Pigs (Die Wirtschaftsschweinchen) are a bilingual children's book series (German/English) for kids 10+ that tells economics and politics as everyday adventures – with the four guinea pigs Rocky, Mr. Grey, Toffy and Mojito. Volume 1 is available on Amazon; ten volumes are planned.
What ages are the books suitable for?
Die Ferien-Detektive from age 8, the Business Guinea Pigs from 10, Klar im Kopf laut im Gefühl for ages 10 to 14 – and for adults there are the novel Prägung and the bar journal The Drink Trail. The exact recommendation is listed with each title.
What is the FLITCH?
The FLITCH puzzle is a premium 15-tile sliding puzzle with magnetic metal tiles that trains focus, logic and patience – and gives you screen-free time. It is currently sold out; it is not yet certain when it will be available again.
Are FLITCH products available on Amazon?
Yes. All FLITCH books are published on Amazon – the direct links are on the Books and Business Guinea Pigs pages.
Are there digital products too?
Yes. Our Etsy shop AnalogMindStudio offers curated wall art, printables and phone wallpapers – from aristocratic animal portraits to calm poster series and gaming worlds.
Are FLITCH products available internationally?
The books are published mainly in German; the Business Guinea Pigs and The Drink Trail are bilingual German/English. This website is available in German, English and Spanish – further releases in other languages are planned.
What is FLITCH working on right now?
After Volume 1, Volume 2 “Der faule Lieferant” is now out too; further volumes of the Business Guinea Pigs are in the works – as well as a series that makes artificial intelligence understandable for kids. News always comes first on Instagram.
Who is behind FLITCH?
FLITCH was founded by Daria Helck and is a brand of FLITCH UG, based in Braunschweig, Germany. The brand grew from the conviction that curiosity, creativity, knowledge and courage are important companions for a fulfilled life. Behind the scenes, Christian Helck is the technical mind who turns ideas into products.
Why does FLITCH combine analogue and digital topics?
Because you should not have to choose: books, stories, creativity and classic brainteasers are just as valuable as modern technologies and digital skills. FLITCH combines the best of both worlds.
What is FLITCH's mission?
FLITCH combines knowledge, creativity, imagination and entertainment into products that enrich, inspire and delight people of all ages. We want to support people in staying curious, trying new things and going their own way.

How did FLITCH come about?
At the kitchen table, in the middle of the pandemic: out of the wish to puzzle together instead of staring at screens, the FLITCH sliding puzzle was born. The family project became a product – and the product became a brand for everything that keeps you curious.
Why are the kids in the Business Guinea Pigs called Daria and Christian?
No coincidence: the two kids carry the names of FLITCH founders Daria and Christian Helck. In the book, Daria is the entrepreneur with the ideas, Christian the tinkerer who runs the numbers – just like in real life. The characters embody the founders and their mission.
Why are the Business Guinea Pigs bilingual?
Because kids learn the key economics and politics terms in both languages at once: every paragraph appears first in German, then in English. English learning happens along the way – a format that did not exist for these topics before.
When will Volume 2 of the Business Guinea Pigs be released?
Volume 2 “Der faule Lieferant” (The Lazy Supplier) is out – available as a paperback and eBook on Amazon. This time it is about contracts, consumer rights and the fine print.
Are the Business Guinea Pigs suitable for school lessons?
Yes. The volumes work with everyday examples, explain key terms in German and English and end with knowledge pages – which makes them interesting for economics and English lessons too. Teachers are welcome to reach out via the contact form.
What does my child learn in Volume 1?

Do the four guinea pigs really exist?
Yes! Rocky, Mr. Grey, Toffy and Mojito really exist – they look exactly like in the book and live with the founding family.
Who is “Klar im Kopf, laut im Gefühl” for?
For kids aged 10 to 14 who think a lot and feel a lot. The 5-week workbook came about because Daria's son needed something that did not exist: understanding feelings, recognising needs, building confidence – with prompts for parents at the end of each block.
What makes “Mein Triops-Abenteuer” special?
It combines real exploring with a personal journal: kids raise triops, observe, document and create – with checklists, puzzles and space for their own drawings, photos and notes.
What is the novel “Prägung” about?
Lara Voss has built a machine that does not read what you think – but how. Then the system starts reflecting things nobody entered. Near-future suspense for adults, as an eBook and in Kindle Unlimited.
Does Daria Helck write all the books herself?
Yes. All FLITCH books are written by Daria Helck and published by FLITCH UG. Behind the scenes, Christian Helck is the technical mind who turns ideas into finished products.
In what order should you read the Business Guinea Pigs?
Each volume stands on its own and can be read individually. Together, the ten planned volumes form the big arc: from the first lemonade stand to understanding how the economy, the state and Europe are connected.
